China is building BNS systems, which is said to be the rival of the US GPS
India is also building its naval system called Indian
Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) with operational name of NAVIC.
Beijing: According to a media report on Thursday, a Chinese
technology firm is planning to launch 272 satellites to provide free WiFi
service to the world by 2026, and to provide rival global technical giants like
Google and SpaceX .
Founded in Shanghai in 2013, the LinkSure Network puts
itself in the market as a global innovative mobile internet company
specializing in free internet access, content and location-based services on
its own website.
It unveiled its first satellite on Tuesday in the
constellation Plan.
State-run China Daily said Thursday, “Satellite from the
Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China's Gansu province will be
launched in the year 2019 and there will be 10 satellites in space by 2020,
whether it is a good initiative in the Internet world. So will know later.”
It has been said in the report that people can use their
mobile phones to search the Internet services provided by the constellation and
browse the Internet, even in areas where telecommunications networks are not
included.
LinkSure Network CEO Wang Jingying said that the company
will invest 3 billion yuan (US $ 431.4 million) in the plan.
He hoped that through various scenarios, applications and
methods, the company could earn in the future.
According to United Nations figures, by the end of 2017,
still 3.9 billion people were not connected to the Internet.
Due to the diversity and complexity of geology science, some
of the basic features of the telecommunications network cannot be established
at some places, and therefore satellite constellation can be an option.
Currently, many companies, including Google, SpaceX, Telesat
and OneWeb, have already begun planning to use satellites to provide internet
access.
Apart from this, China is building BeiDou Navigation
Satellite System (BDS), which is considered to be the rival of America's Global
Positioning System (GPS).
This will be the fourth global satellite navigation system
after US GPS system, GLONASS of Russia and Galileo of the European Union.
India is also building its naval system which is called
Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), along
with operational name of NAVIC.
