Facebook Spot Testing feature that allows the user to ban comments with select phrases and words.
Facebook is testing an interesting new feature which will help users to combat abuse, bullying and harassment on stage. Online harassment has been a major issue that has so far affected most of the social media websites. Facebook, for its part, is doing a number of steps to fight against this issue, and the next feature appears to be another in the lineup. According to a developer, Facebook users will soon be able to block specific comments, phrases, or emoji comments from their personal timetable.
According to a post by twitter developer Jane Wong, the new Facebook feature will allow you to choose a specific word, a group of words, or even emoji that you do not want to show in your timeline. Wong also shared a screenshot of this feature which is currently in development. According to the image, when you block certain words, Facebook will inform that the comments and users who posted their friends will still be able to see them.
The new comment filtering feature is similar to that person already in the Facebook-owned Instagram. Instagram has been allowing users to filter comments using the default keywords and custom keywords for a long time. Similarly, Twitter also has a feature called Muted Words that allows users to restrict specific words to their timetables.
Facebook can allow users to choose which functions they want to filter, or it can suggest some words or phrases. So far, there is no clarity on whether the feature will be available for news feed or not. It is worth noting that Facebook is currently testing this facility and it has not been excluded yet. So far, there is no official information about the facility of the company.
