Google maps has updated with new technologies
Google Maps in India has finally got the option of sharing
live space and ETA in contact with someone traveling on public transport such
as bus and train. This means that you can share your live location directly
with the Google Maps app with the expected time of arrival with your friends.
However, this feature is now available only on Android. Although there is no
official word from Google India, it is expected that iPhone users will get the
convenience soon.
Google India announced through its official Twitter handle,
"Starting today, you can share your live location and ETA with your loved
ones on Google Maps for bus and train trips."
This feature is similar to "Live location" sharing
option on WhatsApp. By saying that the shared contacts will not only be a live
location but also the right time of arrival. Users can share location to other
apps as well as Facebook Messenger or Hangouts or WhatsApp. This feature can
also be used to track the members of your family when they are taking public
transport to reach anywhere. In October last year, Whatsapp made a similar
feature on both Android and iOS.
How to share a live location on the Android Google Maps app?
After entering the destination when navigation begins,
scroll down to get the detailed route. You will see the "Share Trip"
option. Tap on Messenger, WhatsApp, or to share a live location with your
contact on Hangouts.
On the related note, Google is making it easy for you to
join the businesses around you by rolling up the text messaging feature in your
Maps app. Last year, Google launched a feature that allowed customers to send
business to their business profile on Google.
Google Maps is now integrated inside the app. It has been
explained that users will start seeing messages that they had with businesses
inside the Maps app and can continue to chat from there. This option can be
found in both the side menu of Google Maps for both Android and iOS.
