To remove this feature, YouTube, here's how it will change the way the video is viewed.
YouTube, video-based platform that receives more than 1.9 billion users on a monthly basis, is finally washing one of the features, which can be troublesome for many users - annotation. On May 2, 2017, Google's proprietary service announced that it will close the annotation editor. Now, the firm says it will stop showing them completely.
In the dedicated support page, it has been mentioned that YouTube will show existing annotations from January 15, 2019. "Updates: We will show current annotations to the audience starting from January 15, 2019. All existing annotations will be removed," posted post.
With this, YouTube will always end the annotation from its video and will be fully moving on such other tools to promote content within the video such as the card or the end screen.

This may not be good news for some YouTube users. However, it can come as a welcome change for the audience as they have no element inside the video, taking space and interrupting the overall viewing experience.
In the post, it has been added that "the use of annotation has been reduced by more than 70%, as the adoption of the end screen and card. For this reason, we closed the annotation editor in May 2017."
When YouTube stopped annotation editor, he said that YouTube will not be able to add new or add existing annotations, but rather delete them. It was also stated that existing annotations will continue to show on desktop computers. But this will not be the case starting from January 15.
It is worth adding that annotations were limited to desktop versions and were not visible on mobile. However, cards and end screens were also visible on mobile.

YouTube also said that it launched the Annotation Editor in 2008 when the world was not very dependent on mobile devices. Now, with 60% of YouTube's timepieces on the clock, these comments were not widely used. It has also been mentioned that the end screen or card is more attractive and easy to make.
