For all future driver releases, Intel is committed to Microsoft's universal Windows platform.

Those who are updating their drivers, should be able to do so easily, but Intel warns that a UWP driver can cause system instability without completely removing a legacy driver. According to Intel's driver download page, "Failure to do so may lead to minor problems with system instability on your system". Intel also says that this is an issue especially for graphics drivers, though it applies to all types of hardware.
Microsoft says that having a common basis makes drivers easy to test and verify. UWP drivers can be distributed through Windows Update, and thus users can be pushed automatically. Hardware vendors may still offer to download them on their websites, or they can distribute them in other ways through their own driver updater utilities. PC OEMs can supply specific add-on modules, which will be installed on the base devices with their base drivers. The UWP drivers can also allow installation of a support utility such as support software applications through the Microsoft Store.
This driver is released specifically, which is officially named Intel graphics driver 100.6444, and supports the 6th Gen 'SkyLAke' and the integrated CPU in the new core processor. It adds automated game tuning optimization for 12 recent games including Far Cry 5, Pub and Rocket League, as well as the display tweaks which can improve laptop battery life and reduce RAM consumption.
